Abakaliki Study Centre Takes Advocacy Campaign to NDLEA

 

Abakaliki Advocacy

The Director of Abakaliki Study Centre, Dr Udu Ama Aka and his staff have taken an advocacy campaign to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ebonyi State Command, Abakaliki.

 While the massive advocacy was a conscious and decisive efforts to attract  more students to the centre, the director, who represented by the deputy director counselling, Mr Althansius Onyeokoro, used the opportunity to sensitize the officers and men of NDLEA about the operation of NOUN as an Open and Distance  Learning (ODL) institution.

He explained that the university is committed to taking higher education to the  grassroots of  Nigeria particularly to those who were denied access due to one reason or the other.

 According to him, the advantages of  studying at the university rests on the philosophy of flexibility, accessibility, cost - effective among others.

Also speaking, the Assistant Registrar, Mr Henry Okpara, enlightened the NDLEA officials on the requirements and process of securing admission into NOUN and cautioned on the dangers of patronizing fake cyber - cafes.

The deputy Commander of Narcotics, Mr Ibrahim Bashir Mohammed, in his response, expressed delight over the visit.

He assured that the officers and men of NDLEA will leverage on the university's programmes to enhance their education.

Mohammed revealed that their agency had given directive to their staff to study only in NOUN due to  its mode of operation.

 The visit witnessed the distribution of advocacy fliers to officials of the agency as advocacy materials were distributed to the Commander of Narcotics, Ebonyi State Command, Mr Umar Isa Adoro and other top officials in an earlier  visit.

Those present at the event include the deputy commander of Narcotics ( Team Coordinator, Operation & Intelligence), Mr Paschal Eze, senior staff of the agency, among others.
